National Apprentice Week takes place between 11th and 15th March, and is designed to celebrate the positive impact apprenticeships have on individuals, businesses, and the wider economy.
The theme for this year’s event is ‘Apprenticeships Deliver’ – showing that apprenticeships can deliver tangible benefits for both employers and young individuals.
Organisations and employers can access a PDF toolkit here, which outlines the aims of National Apprentice Week, and how to get involved in the future.
In a video message (below), Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg said that the Coalition Government had invested £1.5bn in apprenticeships, and that there had never been a better time to hire an apprentice.
Clegg said that the Youth Contract provides cash incentives to small businesses who want to take on their first apprentice. The £1bn scheme aims to help the young unemployed into work, and provide up to 500,000 opportunities for 18-24 year olds to gain work experience and apprenticeships.
