6 tips to getting the best deal on business vehicles
| |
Most small business owners and managers find the idea of leasing, contracting or buying vehicles a nightmare; particularly as they are bombarded with e-shots and direct mail flyers offering enticing deals on cars and vans.
There are some simple measures you can take to make sure you get the best vehicle for your business needs, and that the method you choose to acquire the vehicle won’t lead to you to “crash” into financial obstacles ahead.
Here are six tips to help you secure the right business vehicle and deal for your business;
- Check out the credentials of the vehicle leasing or contracting firm you are thinking of using – ask for testimonials from customers in your area.
- Make sure they have flexible financial arrangements with reputable underwriting partners, to get a package that suits you.
- Don’t be fooled by low monthly payments. These may include hidden charges at the end for the slightest dink or scrape, or penalties for mileage over and above a very basic minimum.
- Often the best deals allow you to keep the vehicle at the end of the contract, including using it in part exchange on another vehicle.
- Look for deals that give you easy and quick ways of upgrading or changing your vehicle if your business requirements change mid-contract.
- Consider “nearly new” vehicles – let someone else pay the depreciation on showroom models!
It is possible to find companies that will help you find just the right vehicle for you – rather than “off the shelf” models they need to unload.
It is also possible to find contracts that include unlimited mileage and no additional costs for damage; in fact no hidden extras. This all saves you money in the long term, and gives you invaluable peace of mind.
