Save time by interacting with the Government online

Businesses can now create a personalised online profile on the Business Link website. The new facility, My Business, gives them access to a wide range of government services and tailored advice to help them through all phases of their business life cycle.

The ‘My Business’ service will enable businesses to complete secure online transactions, such as paying VAT and corporation tax, filing PAYE returns, and applying for an export licence.

Businesslink.gov.uk can store customer data enabling businesses to save time on administration - users do not need to re-enter information about themselves or their business when using affiliated government websites. Recalling key information and user history meets the expectation that government makes intelligent reuse of what the business tells them.

Registered users can personalise their businesslink.gov.uk experience, through email alerts and updates, tailored guidance and action plan information stored in interactive tools.

Jonathan Hollow, at Business Link, told us;

“My Business will save businesses time, by creating one, customised user ID through which they can gain access to a number of government sites. With the site also storing user history and completed tools, the service will support businesses through all phases of their growth, from planning to launch, to selling or diversifying.”

Users are required to register only once on businesslink.gov.uk for the service. All those who register are provided with a Government Gateway User ID. The user profile is protected through the latest encryption technology, ensuring all details are secure.
