Plusnet responds to Wanadoo's broadband price cut

Soon after the broadband price-cut announcement from Wanadoo earlier this week, rival Plusnet entered the price war by offering 1Mb connections at £14.99 per month and 2Mb connections for £19.99 per month.

In what is sure to be the start of a long price-war by the major broadband suppliers, Plusnet is now offering a 1 Mb service for £14.99 per month (+ £1.75 for each additional Gb of data downloaded per month).

Plusnet's 2Mbps product costs £19.99 per month (+ £2 for each additional Gb of data downloaded per month).

Marco Potesta, the marketing director from Plusnet said: "If Wanadoo truly meant business this is the kind of pricing they would be putting in place."

"Internet users demand the best possible performance and the higher-speeds available provide a much faster and more convenient experience. Simply choose your speed and the bandwidth and away you go. If you want more bandwidth you can pay for as much as you like."
