Huge demand down under for British firms
A leading British based emigration specialist says the CBI is right to highlight the increasing number of UK business owners moving overseas to avoid high tax rates.
The Chester based Emigration Group, which helps thousands of potential migrants move to Australia and New Zealand each year, said both countries are keen to attract disaffected British businesses to drive their young and dynamic economies.
Mike McShane of The Emigration Group said:
“Hacked off UK based business owners need to know that there is a massive demand and significant incentives to relocate their firm down under,’ he said. “Both Australia and New Zealand have no inheritance tax for example while New Zealand has no capital gains tax in most instances.
“Successful British bosses looking to break free from the shackles of red tape and high taxes will be welcomed with open arms down under. Both Australia and New Zealand have the advantage of a shared language, a common basis for commercial law and similar business culture.”
Mr McShane said sectors presenting opportunity to British firms include creative and media, food and drink, recreation and leisure industries, agriculture, mining, oil and gas, telecommunications and biotechnology.
