Where can you find decent staff these days?

print  e-mail

We received an email from a Bytestart visitor, who has found it almost impossible to find decent staff despite all her best efforts:

"I would be very interested to see articles on searching for staff. I live in an area notorious for high unemployment figures yet despite the fact that most people remain as students for such long periods of time we cannot find staff with good English skills, internet friendly and we wanting to work.

We offer incentives, good working conditions, a beautiful new office and a good product ( custom designed t-shirts and fashion garments)to work with. Our promotions team are contacting a warm database of people who have contacted us already and are actively involved in designing their product literature to suit their potential client. No sitting cold calling.

Alas...despite this where are the people with the basic social skills of speech and good English? Where are the unemployed enthusiastic people who would like to train, get a certified course qualification and enjoy being part of a team?

I would love to know of small businesses who have easily gained staff - where did they get them?"
