PR workshop for small businesses - 12th June, London

 print  e-mail

The Business & IP Centre a the British Library is running its second media workshop on Thursday 12th June, aimed at anyone keen to gain media coverage for their new or growing businesses.

Tony Kinch, co-founder of The Real Tea Company attended the first workshop and appeared in a national paper just a few weeks later:

“I found the workshop fun, friendly and incredibly informative. I had absolutely no idea how important it would be to structure press releases in a way that journalists would pick out ours from the hundreds that land on their desk every week and the workshop showed us exactly how to achieve this effectively. Proof is in the pudding that a few weeks later The Real Tea Company had a half page editorial in The Sunday Times. The workshop was one of the best investments in time and money we have made since starting the business”.

The workshop provides fast-paced, practical and interactive introduction to working with the media. Participants learn to identify news through the eyes of a journalist, master the art of composing a press release and then how best to flag up their own story by being able to tackle those all-important calls to the press or broadcast stations. Learning from each other and drawing from the resources at the British Library adds to the dynamism of this event.
