Small Business Champtions 2008 - "Most promising" finalists announced
Six shortlisted companies remain in contention for "most promising new business" at the forthcoming British Small Business Champions awards this year.
This new award category has been created to highlight the achievements of the half million people who set up on their own each year.
The BSBC awards were founded by the Federation of Small Businesses back in 2002, a scheme which is solely focused on smaller companies. There are 4.3 million small businesses in the UK, contributing over 50% of the country's GDP!
The Finalists
My Secret Kitchen Ltd. Ashton Keynes, Wilts - The UK's first food and drink tasting company.
Photon Energy Ltd. Reading - Designs and installs small scale renewable energy systems.
Right Angle Events, Norwich - Provides education, training and entertainment via the world of crime scene investigations.
Wolfestone Translation Ltd. Swansea - Offers high quality, value and exceptional service in the translation industry.
Whitstone Village Stores, Holsworthy, Devon - The family who took on this business offers extensive new services and products.
Rent 'A' Bod, Liverpoool - Provides a wide range of services to take the hassle out of every day living.
The winner of the award will be announced at the BSBC awards evening in London on 21st November, and will collect £1000 and what has promised to be a "splendid trophy".
