 print  e-mail

Entrepreneurs in London seeking information about sourcing funds for growth and developing their business plans are being invited to a morning workshop at the British Library organised by gateway2investment (g2i).

The Sources of Finances workshop will provide an overview of government supported funding sources and other business services including:

  • the London Development Agency (LDA) Grant for Research & Development
  • Small Firm Loan Guarantee
  • R&D Tax Credits
  • Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) and Venture Capital Trusts (VCT)
  • Effective business planning

Speaking at the workshop will be Gary Hellen, Manager of the Grant for Research and Development at the LDA; Kate Tisdale and David Hammel, Relationship Managers with Barclays Technology and Telecoms Team; Neil Pamplin, who leads the tax offering of the London technology group within Grant Thornton; and finally Michael Anderson Director of Business Plan Services.

The workshop will also give an introduction to the British Library’s Business & IP Centre which offers extensive resources such as market reports, industry journals and intellectual property databases that are invaluable for innovators and entrepreneurs seeking to commercialise their ideas and build compelling business plans.

The event has been organised by g2i, the LDA backed consortium that provides early stage technology companies in the capital with the support to build robust business propositions and attract funding from individual, corporate and venture capital investors.

Since its launch a year ago, g2i has worked with more than 200 early stage technology businesses and helped secure more than £5 million funding.

The Sources of Finance workshop is being held at the British Library Business & IP Centre on 12th October from 10am until 12.30pm. Event registration is required. For more information or to register for the event please e-mail amy.pointon@g2i.org or call 020 7728 3141.
