'everywoman' Awards 2009 open for entries
everywoman, the UK’s largest network for women in business is on the lookout for the nation’s most inspiring female entrepreneurs, as the annual NatWest everywoman awards open to new applicants.
The prizes are rewarded regardless of background, age or business sector and serve as encouragement for those both thinking to start their own company and those that have just started out.
The awards are open to women from all sectors of business with categories determined by age, each inspired by the ancient Greek goddesses – Artemis, Demeter, Athena and Hera – representing courage, determination, perseverance, wisdom and strength.
In addition to these awards, there is also the Iris Award for use of technical innovation in business, and the everywoman Ambassador’s Award, presented to Elle Macpherson in 2007 and Coleen Rooney in 2008.
The Spirit of everywoman Award is presented to a woman who has changed the landscape for women in business, won by Karren Brady last year for her phenomenal inspiration to businesswomen nationwide and previously Dame Stella Rimington in 2007 and Dame Mary Perkins in 2006, of Specsavers Opticians, who is now Patron of the NatWest everywoman Awards.
Karen Gill MBE, Co-founder and Director of everywoman enthuses, “These awards are an excellent way for female entrepreneurs nationwide to raise their profile and gain deserved recognition for what they have achieved. Every year we are astounded by the fantastic stories about their accomplishments which are an inspiration to us all, and previous winners act as positive role models for a whole community of aspiring entrepreneurs. Businesswomen have nothing to lose by entering and so we encourage anyone contemplating it to apply!”
How to enter
The awards are free to enter and applications are downloadable from the everywoman website until 31 July and will be judged by an independent panel.
You can also visit the website to arrange table bookings, or contact everywoman directly on 0870 746 1800.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony held on 2nd December at The Dorchester Hotel in London.
