WestFocus Innovations Day

 print  e-mail

The WestFocus Innovations Day will take place on 18th May 2006 at Kempton Park Racecourse Conference Centre and will provide free help and advice to organisations and individuals looking for new ideas, sources of finance, networks of contacts and examples of best practice.

The Innovations Day will bring together established and budding regional business managers from across the region to discover the significant resources that WestFocus and local business support organisations can offer to help local businesses succeed.

Inventors and entrepreneurs will find the answers to their questions about starting and growing a business including innovation and funding, entrepreneurship and skills transfer, information technology, intellectual property rights and business support through learning.

Peter Kayes, the Chairman of WestFocus Executive board, says: “I am sure that this event will prove to be both interesting and informative for anyone who is looking for ways to grow their business and make it prosper – whether it is a budding entrepreneur, an established start-up, a successful enterprise or someone who is simply looking for advice on how to get started”.

To reflect the complexity of today’s business needs, the Day will host three separate activities:

Exhibition Zone
28 stands, will showcase the work of WestFocus' networks of best practice over the last 18 months since the Consortium began. It will also feature an array of information on how business practices can be improved by tapping into the networks’ vibrant communities of industrialists and academics.

Other exhibitors include: the London Development Agency, South London Business, West London Business, regional Chambers of Commerce, business support networks and some local SEEDA Enterprise Hubs.

Networking Zone
Providing an opportunity to meet peers, discuss common problems and establish links.

Enterprise Zone
Featuring 18 free seminars and expert panels each focusing on a hot business related topic. In addition, lone entrepreneurs and start-ups will get a chance to win £1,000s worth of mentoring and expert advice by taking part in the ‘Pitch Your Business Idea’ competition.

The Innovations Day is FREE for all delegates. For full details visit the website at www.westfocus.org.uk/innovationsday
