Make me Famous say home business owners

 print  e-mail

In a questionnaire carried out by Enterprise Nation, the homeworking website, home business owners named marketing as a top priority.

In response, Enterprise Nation is running a week-long campaign of marketing information and inspiration, with features, top stories and how to…guides, including expert commentary from Rachel Bridge, Enterprise Editor of The Sunday Times and Rob Pittam, presenter of BBC Two’s Working Lunch.

The website includes advice on how to befriend a journalist and appear on television, plus tips for effective public speaking from personal coach to Everton Football Club and managing director of Advance Performance, Mike Finnigan.

Information appears on both the website and in episode 4 of Enterprise Nation, the homeworking podcast, available to download here or via iTunes.

Emma Jones, Editor of Enterprise Nation told Bytestart:

“Our homeworking visitors have spoken and made it known they would value our help in marketing themselves and their business, both online and off. We have responded by reaching out to experts in the marketing field and uploaded their advice on the site and in our podcast.

One of the many benefits of running a business from home is that the money saved on not taking on extra premises can be dedicated to marketing the business. But we do highlight techniques that cost little or no money such as speaking at public events, entering Awards and competitions and writing a press release. A high profile leads to more sales and improved customer retention so marketing does deserve some serious time and attention.”

The ‘Make me Famous’ marketing campaign will run from Monday 19th February for one week.
