Supporting the self-employed Since 2004

Work with us

ByteStart has been helping UK small business owners, start-ups and self-employed people since 2004. We work with selected businesses whose products and services are relevant to our readers.

Original articles for ByteStart

We research, write and publish original articles on subjects that matter to small businesses, with relevant coverage of your product or service. We welcome enquiries from software providers, professional advisers and other businesses serving the UK small business market. We do not offer display advertising or banner placements.

Why ByteStart?

Established in 2004, ByteStart is an independent UK publication with more than two decades of experience producing practical guides for start-ups, sole traders and small business owners. Our articles are written for readers who are actively running or setting up businesses, and we only commission content that fits those interests.

Pricing

Our standard fee is £350 + VAT (where applicable) for an original article researched, written and published by the ByteStart team. UK customers are charged VAT at the prevailing rate where required. For overseas business customers, UK VAT may not apply, depending on the place-of-supply rules and customer details.

What’s included?

  • Research, writing and editing by the ByteStart team
  • A relevant topic agreed in advance
  • Natural coverage of your business or product, including a relevant link to your website where appropriate
  • Publication on ByteStart in a suitable editorial category, with the article retained in our archive subject to normal editorial review
  • Fact-checking and editorial review
  • A main image created by the ByteStart team; partners may also supply relevant product screenshots or other images for consideration
  • One round of reasonable factual amendments before publication

We retain editorial control over every article and only accept subjects that fit our readership. Content is identified appropriately where it forms part of a commercial arrangement. We do not guarantee search rankings, traffic or enquiries.

Commercial partnerships

We also work with a small number of commercial partners whose services are relevant to ByteStart readers. These opportunities are currently fully allocated, so we’re not accepting new commercial partnership enquiries at present.
