Small Business Saturday 2026: UK tour begins ahead of 5th December event

Small Business Saturday is heading across the UK this November, visiting independent businesses ahead of the annual event on Saturday 5th December 2026.

The campaign’s Out And About tour began in Wrexham last month and will visit Birmingham, Belfast, Manchester and Glasgow over the coming weeks.

Organisers will meet business owners, share their stories and find out how they plan to get involved in this year’s Small Business Saturday. The campaign aims to encourage more people to support the small firms operating in their communities.

Small Business Saturday tour dates

The remaining Out And About stops are:

  • Tuesday 10th November – Birmingham
  • Tuesday 17th November – Belfast
  • Thursday 26th November – Manchester
  • Tuesday 1st December – Glasgow

The tour, organised in partnership with BT, will also offer practical cyber security guidance to help small business owners understand common threats and what to do if something goes wrong.

Research from the Small Business Institute found that 48% of small businesses would be more likely to improve their cyber security if they saw other small firms doing so successfully. The findings come from a survey of 1,803 small business owners carried out in May 2026.

Free small business webinars

Alongside the tour, the campaign is running a series of free, expert-led webinars throughout November. The sessions cover topics including marketing, business finance and exporting, offering owners a chance to pick up practical advice without having to travel.

Details of the webinar programme and the wider campaign are available on the official Small Business Saturday website.

How can small businesses get involved?

Small Business Saturday takes place on Saturday 5th December 2026. Businesses can use the occasion to promote their services, run special events or offers, and encourage customers to shop locally.

Michelle Ovens CBE, director of Small Business Saturday UK, said the campaign champions the country’s diverse range of founders and celebrates the contribution their businesses make to local communities.

First launched in the UK in 2013, Small Business Saturday has become an annual opportunity to highlight independent retailers, service providers and other small firms.
